Drupal URL Redirect

URL Redirect

The only reason you need to use a URL Redirect is when your old site url is different than the new one.  For example if your URL path settings is about-cmhc you would need to go to the URL redirects and put the old site url path in From* under the URL Directs settings (refer to the picture below), which would be about in this case.  If you want the page to be different than the URL path settings (for example you want the menu link or page to say About CMHC but want the URL alias to be about) you would need to uncheck Generate automatic URL alias and click on Configure URL alias patterns and change it to the URL alias that you want to (refer to picture above).
